The Department of Human Genetics at the University of Michigan Medical School (Ann Arbor, Michigan) is performing a broad search to fill one tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level.
We encourage candidates to apply who have a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree, or equivalent, and who plan to employ classical and/or modern approaches to address fundamental questions in genetics and genomics. Recruited faculty will join a highly collaborative community of more than forty investigators, whose research is integrated with other basic science and clinical departments, and centers and institutes at the University of Michigan. Information about research currently pursued in the Department can be found at https://medschool.umich.edu/departments/human-genetics.
Successful candidates will be provided with laboratory and office space, and a competitive start-up package to launch a robust research program. We expect candidates to contribute to our faculty’s strong interest in developing trainees at all levels, including teaching in the classroom and mentoring in the laboratory.
Candidates should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, statement summarizing past and future research plans (3 pages), a teaching and service statement (1 page), and three letters of recommendation. Completed applications will start to be reviewed as they are received, so please submit your application as soon as possible.
