Advanced Research Scientist for CMC Drug Product Development
As our new Advanced Research Scientist, you will contribute to the development of drug products across Novo's development pipeline. You will apply your formulation expertise in early- and late-stage development projects, working with peptides, proteins, antibodies or minibinders to help create stable, high-quality products that can reach patients worldwide. You will join Chemistry, Manufacturing & Control (CMC) Development in Drug Product (DP) Development, where promising molecules are turned into drug products that can move through development and towards patients. As an Advanced Research Scientist in DP Development, you will use your formulation expertise to develop stable and robust injectable products across Novo's pipeline. Working with peptides, proteins, antibodies and minibinders, you will take scientific ownership of formulation activities from early development through later clinical stages. With your insights and decisions, you will assist in choosing the right path forward and progress new medicines.
In this role, you will provide scientific input and help drive formulation and process development, supporting robust pharmaceutical characteristics and product stability. You will take ownership of formulation activities within projects and help identify formulation challenges early, so projects can move forward with quality and confidence. Your key outcomes will be to: Design, interpret and report formulation studies that support the development of injectable drug products. Plan and execute studies in close collaboration with scientists, laboratory technicians and specialists. Contribute to documentation for internal and external purposes, including clinical trial applications and patent submissions. Share formulation knowledge and insights that support development decisions across the portfolio. Collaborate with internal stakeholders across the Novo value chain.
To succeed in this role, you have a strong scientific foundation and hands-on experience from drug product development. You can turn complex formulation questions into clear scientific input and communicate your recommendations to colleagues and stakeholders with different backgrounds. The qualifications we are looking for include: A PhD or Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Engineering or another relevant natural science field. At least 3 years of experience within research and development and drug product development across phase I–III. Hands-on experience with injectable protein, peptide, antibody or minibinder formulation and stability studies. Experience with phase-appropriate quality expectations and documentation. Additionally, you are fluent in written and spoken English and able to work collaboratively in a multi-stakeholder setting. Experience with clinical trial application documentation, patent submissions or cross-functional portfolio knowledge sharing will be an advantage. On a personal level, you bring curiosity, initiative and the ability to create progress in a dynamic environment. You have a positive attitude, you are a strong team player demonstrating priority in building relations with the people around you and in contributing to a pleasant and cheerful working environment. You enjoy taking ownership of your work and are comfortable creating clarity when scientific questions arise. You can translate complex scientific content into clear recommendations for colleagues and stakeholders. You bring an innovative, proactive and engaging mindset that helps move projects forward.
In CMC DP Development, we are approximately 200 colleagues working on developing formulations and production processes for injectable and oral biopharmaceutical products. You will work closely with scientists, laboratory technicians, specialists and project stakeholders across Global Research, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, Analytical Development and Global Manufacturing and Supply. The collaboration spans projects from early development through late-stage development and process validation.

Salary: For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from DKK 570,200 to 838,100, corresponding to the level of the position. The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate's skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience. The salary package may include short-term and/or long-term incentives as well as other employee benefits based on position level, location, functional area and relevant market benchmarks.
