Postdoc In RNA Function And Gene Regulation
The laboratory of Ulf Vang Ørom is inviting applications for a 2-year postdoctoral position at the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics at Aarhus University.
The position will focus on RNA and its role in regulating cellular pathways relevant for metabolic processes.
This is a 2–year position from February 1 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter with possibility for extension of the employment.
You will be working using several methods to study RNA, protein-interactions and epigenetics, often including high through-put methods. The project focuses on novel aspects linking RNA, metabolism and epigenetics, and allows for active involvement in shaping the project within its duration. You will be working with a high degree of independence and in collaboration with other researchers at the institute and internationally.
Applicants should have a PhD degree in a relevant area and expertise with working with RNA and high through-put methods. A high-quality publication record and excellent language (English) skills are required.
The Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics hosts researchers in the areas of RNA and protein biology, bioinformatics and nutrition, as well as plant research, giving great opportunities for interdisciplinary collaborations.
The department offers a well-developed research infrastructure, laboratories and access to shared equipment; an exciting interdisciplinary environment with many national, international and industrial collaborators; a research climate encouraging lively, open and critical discussion within and across different fields of research; a work environment with close working relationships, networking and social activities; a workplace characterised by professionalism, equality and a healthy work-life balance.
The place of work is Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, Universitetsbyen 81, 8000 Aarhus, and the area of employment is Aarhus University with related departments.
Applications must be received no later than 30 November 2026.
Shortlisting is used. This means that after the deadline for applications – and with the assistance from the assessment committee chairman, and the appointment committee if necessary – the head of department selects the candidates to be evaluated.
