We are looking for a Research Engineer, Perovskite Optoelectronic Devices to conduct research on the design, fabrication, characterization, and optimization of next-generation halide perovskite materials and devices. The role will focus on developing high-performance perovskite-based optoelectronic technologies, investigating structure-property-performance relationships, and advancing device stability, scalability, and functionality for practical applications. The successful candidate will work on halide perovskites for a range of optoelectronic applications, including solar cells, photodetectors, and emerging smart adaptive devices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in the conduct of research projects with research team members to ensure the timely completion of project deliverables.
- Programme and execute experimental plans, data collection, analysis, and reporting to achieve project objectives and milestones.
- Configure, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain advanced materials synthesis, thin-film deposition, device fabrication, and characterization equipment.
- Develop novel perovskite materials, device architectures, fabrication processes, and characterization methodologies to improve device performance, stability, and scalability.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including academic, industrial, and funding partners, on research activities, technical discussions, and project deliverables.
- Mentor junior researchers, students, and laboratory personnel in experimental techniques, data analysis, laboratory safety, and research best practices.
- Assist in the preparation of research proposals, grant applications, technical reports, patents, and scientific publications.
- Maintain laboratory facilities, equipment, consumables, and inventory, including procurement, vendor liaison, equipment servicing, and compliance with safety requirements.
- Produce high-quality technical reports, presentations, and documentation that effectively communicate research findings to project partners, management, and funding agencies.
- Present research outcomes at project meetings, conferences, workshops, and other dissemination activities.
- Support intellectual property generation, technology translation, and industry engagement efforts where appropriate.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Nanotechnology, or a related discipline.
- At least 4 years of relevant research, laboratory, or industrial experience in semiconductor materials (halide perovskites), thin-film technologies, optoelectronic devices, photovoltaics, or related fields. Candidates with a Master's degree may be considered with fewer years of relevant experience.
- Hands-on experience in one or more areas of perovskite materials synthesis, thin-film processing, device fabrication, micro/nanofabrication, and optoelectronic device characterization.
- Familiarity with common thin-film deposition and device fabrication techniques such as spin coating, thermal evaporation, sputtering, glovebox processing, ALD, and encapsulation is advantageous.
- Experience operating and analyzing data from characterization tools such as XRD, SEM, AFM, UV-Vis spectroscopy, photoluminescence spectroscopy, solar simulator, EQE, transient measurements, or other optoelectronic characterization systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills, with proficiency in scientific data analysis software (e.g., Origin, MATLAB, Python, LabVIEW, or equivalent).
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare technical reports, research publications, presentations, and project documentation.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary and multicultural research teams.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
- Meticulous, self-motivated, and detail-oriented, with a commitment to maintaining high standards of research quality and laboratory safety.
- Prior experience in halide perovskite research, solar cells, photodetectors, LEDs, or other optoelectronic devices is highly desirable.
We regret to inform that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
