🏛️ Regeneron 📍 United States (US) 🗓️ Posted 3 days, 5 hours ago

About this role

Physician Scientist, Cardiometabolic Therapeutic Area Genetics

At Regeneron, we use science and innovation to develop life-changing medicines for people with serious diseases. We are seeking a Physician Scientist to join our Cardiometabolic Therapeutic Area Genetics (TAG) team at the Regeneron Genetics Center (RGC). In this role, you will use massive-scale human exome sequencing to discover and validate new therapeutic targets in obesity and obesity-associated metabolic disease, accelerating therapeutic development through new human genetics and epidemiological insights, while collaborating with RGC teams and Regeneron's pre-clinical and clinical development teams.

This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a fast-growing, science-driven organization making a meaningful difference to patients worldwide.

Location: Tarrytown, NY or Cambridge, MA

Discover your role:

  • Generate key research questions, then design and execute studies and analyses to address them
  • Interpret study results and summarize insights across formats — documents, presentations, patent applications, and publications — for different audiences
  • Leverage RGC and Regeneron datasets, external resources, and the scientific/medical literature to address research questions, weighing quantitative and qualitative strength of evidence
  • Support target nomination and validation by applying RGC's human genetics capabilities alongside Regeneron's therapeutics platforms and development modalities
  • Partner with Clinical Development to evaluate clinical-stage programs and identify opportunities for human genetics studies that inform indication selection or safety evaluation
  • Participate in the intellectual life of the Cardiometabolic TAG, RGC, and Regeneron at large, helping build an inclusive culture where everyone can perform at their best
  • Represent the Therapeutic Area Genetics team in cross-functional initiatives across RGC and Regeneron

    This role requires:

    • An MD with a strong background in and knowledge of human genetics and genetic epidemiology; an MD/PhD with training in translational human genetics, genetic epidemiology, or a related discipline is preferred
    • Proficiency with R or similar software, and familiarity with high-performance computing environments
    • Experience integrating different data resources to translate initial genetic findings, and familiarity with meta-analysis of genome-wide summary statistics
    • Preferred/nice to have: experience as an investigator in Randomized Controlled Trials
    • Preferred/nice to have: experience in the clinical management or medical research of cardiometabolic disease

Regeneron is an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion or belief (or lack thereof), sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, gender reassignment, marital or civil partnership status, civil status, pregnancy or parental status, age, disability, nationality, citizenship status, ethnic or national origin, membership of the Traveler community, familial status, genetic information, military or veteran status, or any other characteristic protected under applicable law.
