The Su Lab at UCLA, directed by Prof. Ida Su, is seeking a highly driven, creative, and collaborative Postdoctoral Fellow to join our expanding team. Our laboratory focuses on developing innovative technologies to enable in vivo cell engineering (e.g., in vivo CAR T cells) for immunotherapies against cancer, autoimmune disorders, and infectious diseases. The successful candidate will work closely with Prof. Su on mutually agreed-upon translational and interdisciplinary projects. This position provides strong mentorship, cutting-edge resources, and excellent training opportunities tailored to prepare the fellow for their chosen career trajectory in either academia or industry.
Basic qualifications:
- Education: A Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, Synthetic Biology, Immunology, or a closely related field.
- Technical Expertise: Proven track record of designing, executing, and interpreting quantitative biological experiments.
- Analytical Skills: Demonstrated ability to rigorous evaluate data, prepare high-quality publication figures, and communicate complex results clearly.
- Communication: Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Working Style: Ability to work independently with high self-motivation, while thriving as a proactive, collaborative team member. Excellent organizational, time-management, and collaboration skills are required.
Preferred qualifications:
- Molecular & Synthetic Biology: Extensive experience in molecular cloning, genetic circuit design, CRISPR/Cas systems, or prime editing.
- Computational Biology & AI/ML: Experience in AI/ML-enabled design of biomolecules (e.g., proteins, RNA) or bioinformatics.
- Cell Analysis: Proficient in flow cytometry, FACS, NGS, or single-cell analysis techniques (e.g., scRNA-seq).
- Translational Models: Experience in in vivo animal handling, surgery, or animal models of disease (e.g., cancer).
Application requirements:
- Curriculum Vitae – Your most recently updated C.V.
- Cover Letter – Cover letter explaining your research interests, research experience, and career goals.
