Postdoctoral Research Associate – Pediatric Allergy & Pulmonary Medicine
About this role
Postdoctoral Research Associate
The Horani lab is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our group investigating airway epithelial cell and motile cilia biology. Our lab is part of the WashU Cilia group and investigates motile cilia function using human and mouse airway models. We are interested in cilia biology, airway cell differentiation, motile ciliogenesis, and the pathogenesis of the human disease, Primary ciliary dyskinesia. New team members will join ongoing projects and embark on new projects looking at the role novel proteins in motile cilia structure and function, new factors affecting motile ciliogenesis, and the role of inflammation in the airways. Candidates with experience in transcriptomics are encouraged to apply. Experience with microscopy is an advantage. The appointment is a training or transitional period in preparation for an academic, industrial, governmental, or other full-time research or teaching career. Additional emphasis will be placed on enhancing written and oral communication skills, data analysis, review of the literature, and will include some laboratory-based teaching of undergraduate or graduate students.
