Research Fellow
About this role
Research Fellow
We are seeking a Research Fellow to join the Immune Dialogue Laboratory, led by Dr Aymeric Silvin, at the UCL Cancer Institute. This exciting translational research position focuses on understanding why some patients with anaplastic thyroid cancer respond to immunotherapy while others develop resistance. You will use cutting-edge approaches including immune profiling, flow and spectral cytometry, single-cell transcriptomics, and spatial biology technologies to identify biomarkers and therapeutic opportunities. Working closely with clinicians, bioinformaticians, and external collaborators, you will drive independent research projects, publish findings in leading journals, present at international conferences, and contribute to the development of future research directions within the laboratory.
You will hold a PhD in Immunology, Cancer Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related discipline, with a strong background in tumour immunology and/or myeloid cell biology. You will have hands-on experience with flow cytometry, immune phenotyping, and single-cell omics technologies, along with computational analysis skills using R and/or Python. We are looking for a highly motivated researcher with excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills who can work independently while thriving in a collaborative multidisciplinary environment. A passion for scientific discovery, a commitment to inclusive working practices, and the ability to develop innovative research ideas will be essential for success in this role.
Applications should include a CV and a Cover Letter: In the Cover Letter please provide evidence of the essential and desirable criteria in the Person Specification part of the Job Description. (By including a Cover Letter, you can leave blank the 'Why you have applied for this role' field in the application form, which is limited in the number of characters it will allow.) The post is funded for 1 year in the first instance.
