Senior Postdoctoral Scientist in Computational Immunology
We are seeking to appoint a Senior Postdoctoral Scientist in Computational Immunology to join a collaborative research programme across the Elliott, Adamopoulou, Sim and Fernandes laboratories. This exciting role will support multiple projects focused on computational immunology and cancer immunoprevention and is funded through the GlaxoSmithKline and University of Oxford PRECIsE Alliance, alongside the MRC, Wellcome Trust and CAMS Oxford Institute. You will play a leading role in developing innovative computational approaches and data resources that advance our understanding of antigen presentation and immune recognition.
You will be responsible for leading the development of computational platforms and databases to support immunopeptidomics research, designing and implementing advanced computational models of antigen presentation, analysing large-scale biological datasets, and contributing to the development of novel research tools. You will manage your own research programme, contribute to grant applications and high-impact publications, supervise junior researchers, and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external collaborators to drive innovative research.
You must hold a PhD in biology, bioinformatics or a related discipline and have extensive experience in computational biology or mathematical modelling. You will have strong programming skills in R and Python, experience developing and curating databases, a thorough understanding of HLA biology, and an excellent publication record. You will also possess outstanding organisational, analytical and communication skills, with the ability to lead projects, develop new computational approaches, and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary research environment.
