Postdoctoral positions – Yale Center for Neuroethology / Bagriantsev lab

🏛️ Yale Center for Neuroethology and Physiological Plasticity 📍 United States (US) 🗓️ Posted 10 hours, 42 minutes ago

About this role

Postdoctoral positions are available in the Bagriantsev lab at the Center for Neuroethology and Physiological Plasticity and the Department of Cellular & Molecular Physiology. The lab studies the neurophysiology of sense of touch—the only truly indispensable sense. Studying animals across vertebrate clades, including fish, birds, and mammals such as mice and the thirteen-lined ground squirrel, we investigate how tactile end-organs—Meissner and Pacinian corpuscles, free nerve endings, and others—arose in evolution and how they function. Using a multidisciplinary approach spanning electrophysiology, structural biology, and behavior, we seek to reveal general principles of mechanosensation across vertebrates. Our research informs strategies to ameliorate pathological tactile sensitivity and the development of bio-inspired tactile sensors for advanced prosthetics and human–machine interfaces.
The positions are fully funded. First-year postdoctoral salary is $68.5K a year and includes health insurance. Join us to do cutting edge research in the superb intellectual environment of Yale University. Interested candidates should email their statement of interest and CV to Slav Bagriantsev at slav.bagriantsev@yale.edu
