Postdoctoral Research Scientist

The Columbia Center for Translational Immunology in the Department of Medicine at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, seeks a Postdoctoral Research Scientist with skills and experience related to immunology, cell and molecular biology, translational immunology, and immunology-related diseases.  Our research programs study translational immunology and transplantation. The laboratory of Dr. Jianing Fu conducts translational research on T and B cell alloreactivity after human solid organ transplantation. The postdoc will carry out important research projects on the biology of graft rejection and tolerance in patients receiving intestinal or lung transplants. The applicant will play a crucial role in performing experiments, analyzing data on immune cell turnover dynamics, dissecting cell functions in graft rejection and tolerance induction,  and correlating results with clinical outcomes to better interpret underlying immunological mechanisms. 

 

Qualifications

PhD, MD, or both.

Background in immunology, biology, or cellular and molecular biology preferred.

Experience with spectrum flow cytometry, cellular functional assays, humanized mouse models, immune receptor repertoire analysis, or multiomic data analysis is preferred.

Demonstrated scientific writing skills, evidenced by high-quality, peer-reviewed publications.

Excellent organizational, presentation, communication, and teamwork skills are highly desirable.
