Research Fellow (Immunology)
About this role
Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Join the laboratory of Asst Prof Loh Jia Tong at the School of Biological Sciences. We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our immunology research laboratory investigating early-life innate immune mechanisms in health and disease. Our research focuses on understanding how innate immune cells shape host defence, tissue development, and repair during early life and how these processes influence susceptibility to infectious and inflammatory diseases. We integrate state-of-the-art mouse models, high-dimensional immune profiling, single-cell genomics, and functional immunology approaches to uncover fundamental mechanisms driving development and disease pathogenesis.
Job Description
- Design and conduct independent research projects in immunology.
- Perform and analyze high-dimensional flow cytometry experiments.
- Utilize and develop murine models of infection and immune-mediated disease.
- Perform primary immune cell isolation, culture, and functional assays.
- Analyze and interpret single-cell RNA sequencing datasets.
- Contribute to manuscript preparation, grant applications, and presentation of research findings.
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to a collaborative laboratory environment
Requirements
- PhD in Immunology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field
- Entry level candidates with strong technical expertise and enthusiasm for immunology research are particularly encouraged to apply.
- Strong experimental background in immunology research
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency in:
- High-dimensional flow cytometry and data analysis
- Mouse experimentation and in vivo disease models
- Primary cell isolation and culture
- Single-cell RNA sequencing data analysis
- Prior experience in innate immunity, neutrophils, and myeloid cells is an advantage
- A publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
Interested candidates should submit:
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Brief statement of research interests
