Karolinska Institutet, Department of Oncology-Pathology (OnkPat), SciLifeLab Helleday/Rudd Laboratory The Helleday/Rudd Laboratory is located at SciLifeLab and consists of approximately 25 researchers, doctoral students, and postdocs. The overall goal of our operations is to improve cancer treatment and treatments of inflammatory diseases. Our work encompasses both basic and translational research. The research group is multidisciplinary, with expertise in cell biology, biochemistry, medicinal chemistry, and pharmacology from both academia and industry. Your mission We are seeking a research assistant for our research groups to take responsibility for and facilitate laboratory operations, laboratory organization, and ensure good order and structure in the laboratory. The duties include the following tasks: - Responsible for the daily operations of the laboratory so that it functions optimally. Inventory of lab stock and replenishment of consumables. - Responsible for ordering and procurement in accordance with current agreements and ensuring that KI's purchasing and procurement rules are followed. - Retrieve and unpack ordered materials, inform the requester, and register deliveries in databases. - Ensure that applicable agreements and discounts are received on all orders. - Responsible for invoice processing in UBW. - Perform general laboratory tasks such as buffer preparation, aliquoting reagents, preparing agar plates, culturing cells and waste handling. - Responsible for ensuring that instruments, lab equipment, and apparatus function satisfactorily, organizing repairs, and ordering service. - Develop and update databases regarding substances, antibodies, restriction enzymes, etc. - Responsible for the storage of cell lines and –140°C freezers, and minus 80 freezer organization and updating of freezer content. - Responsible for inventory and updating of the chemical storage. - Responsible for the introduction and training of new laboratory personnel in instrument usage and lab safety. - Organization of cleaning days.  Your profile - We are looking for a driven person with a Bachelor’s degree or comparable education in molecular biology, biochemistry, or related fields, who possesses basic laboratory skills. - As a successful applicant, you are highly responsible, service-oriented, organized, meticulous, and flexible. You must have very good organizational skills. - You should enjoy being busy and be able to switch quickly between different tasks. - You are social, helpful, and appreciate an international workplace where both Swedish and English are spoken. - You enjoy working and interacting with others. The following qualifications are required: - Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written. - Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and database management. The following qualifications are advantageous: - Experience in lab management within molecular/cell biology, high-throughput screening, protein purification, assay development, or medicinal chemistry. - Experience in working under sterile conditions, culturing bacteria and growing eukaryotic cells. - Experience working in UBW.
