Senior Scientist, Analytical Development

Our mission at Asimov is to advance humanity's ability to design living systems, enabling biotechnologies with outsized benefit to society. We're developing a mammalian synthetic biology platform––from cells to software––to enable the design and manufacture of next-generation therapeutics.

We are seeking a Senior Scientist to join our Analytical Sciences team. In this role, you will lead analytical efforts to develop and optimize methods supporting the characterization of antibodies and diverse antibody formats (including bispecifics and other multispecifics, Fc-fusions, and other engineered architectures), proteins, and CGT therapeutics. You will actively collaborate with multiple teams, ensuring that your work and insights are aligned with broader program goals. You will apply your technical skills to address complex analytical challenges, continuously grow your expertise, and contribute to a culture of scientific rigor.

About the Role:

• Lead analytical development efforts for key projects, designing and implementing experiments to generate actionable results.

• Engage with cross-functional teams to share findings, raise critical analytical issues, and support aligned decision-making.

• Manage and mentor junior scientists, focusing on experimental design, problem-solving, and fostering a culture of scientific rigor.

• Ensure transparency and maintain consistent communication with project stakeholders about progress, risks, and results.

• Continuously develop and apply technical skills in analytical method development (HPLC/UPLC, MS, CE, and other protein characterization techniques) to address evolving project needs.

• Identify opportunities to improve workflows, analytical throughput, and reproducibility.

  About You:

  • Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related field with 4+ years of relevant biopharma analytical experience, or M.S. with 7+ years of relevant experience.

  • Hands-on experience in analytical method development (HPLC/UPLC, MS, CE, UV, etc.) across diverse antibody formats, with a willingness and aptitude to rapidly expand technical expertise.

  • Strong understanding of antibody structural formats and how format-specific architecture (bispecifics/multispecifics, Fc-fusions, biosimilars, and other engineered constructs) shapes analytical strategy and method selection.

  • Strong collaboration and alignment skills, with the ability to communicate findings clearly and maintain transparency with stakeholders.

  • Experience mentoring junior scientists, guiding them in experimental design and problem-solving, and fostering a culture of rigorous science.

  • Proactive problem-solving mindset, with the ability to apply analytical skills to address complex project challenges.

  • Experience engaging across teams and functions, influencing decisions through effective data-driven communication.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
