Lab Scientist (m/f/d) Biotherapeutics Discovery Research

Scientist Position

We are seeking a highly motivated Scientist to join our Biotherapeutics Discovery team in Vienna and contribute to the discovery and optimization of next-generation antibodies and multispecific biologics for oncology and immunotherapy. In this laboratory-based role, you will combine hands-on expertise in protein engineering and molecular biology with computational and data-driven approaches to design, generate, and characterize innovative biologic drug candidates. You will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment alongside experts in antibody discovery, protein engineering, pharmacology, and data science.

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Design, engineer, and optimize antibodies, multispecific biologics, and other protein therapeutics, assessing molecule performance, developability risks, and engineering opportunities.
• Perform plasmid design, cloning, sequence analysis, and construct verification to support biologics discovery.
• Generate and characterize recombinant antibodies and proteins using established expression and analytical workflows.
• Apply computational, AI/ML, digital, and data visualization tools to support scientific decision-making and advance discovery projects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional project teams, clearly communicate scientific findings, and contribute to a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

  Requirements

  • Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Protein Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of relevant academic or industry research experience, ideally in therapeutic antibodies or multispecific biologics.
  • Hands-on experience with cloning, plasmid design, sequence analysis, and recombinant protein expression and characterization.
  • Strong knowledge of antibody/protein engineering; familiarity with AI/ML, computational tools, or protein modeling is an advantage.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; experience with multispecific antibodies, automation, or high-throughput screening is a plus.

      The remuneration for this position starts at EUR 53.900 gross annual target salary per year (full time). The actual salary package depends on professional experience and qualifications. We will be happy to discuss further details in person.
