Summary
In Klf5 knockout mice, the ductular reaction upon cholestatic liver injury is severely suppressed. We developed an in vitro 3D branching system that mimics the ductular reaction. In this system, the biliary cells were detached from the branching structure when Klf5 was lost. In order to unravel the roles of Klf5 and identify its target molecules that function to prevent the cells from detaching, we conducted RNA-seq analysis on the biliary cells from 3D in vitro branching structure.
