Summary
To investigate the functions of the RNA-binding proteins LARP4A and LARP4B in prostate cancer and osteosarcoma, we knocked down LARP4A and LARP4B in PC3, MG63 and MNNG/HOS cell lines and characterised the effects on in vivo tumourigenicity, lung colonisation and in vitro proliferation, cell cycle progression, apoptosis and migration. In order to uncover potential mechanisms behind the phenotypes that we found, we then performed transcriptomic profiling using bulk RNAseq and used the data to identify potential biological processes influenced by LARP4A/LARP4B loss
