Summary (written by the submitters)
Establishment of an in vitro system to explore molecular mechanisms of mastitis susceptibility in cattle by comparative expression profiling of Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus inoculated primary cells sampled from cows with different genetic predisposition for somatic cell score Primary bovine mammary gland epithelial cells (pbMEC) were sampled from the udder parenchyma of cows that were selected for high and low mastitis susceptibility by applying a marker

assisted selection strategy considering QTL and molecular marker information of a repetitively confirmed QTL for SCS in the telomeric region on BTA18 The cells were cultivated and subsequently inoculated with heat inactivated mastitis pathogens Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus, respectively. After 1, 6 and 24 hours the cells were harvested and comparatively analyzed using microarray expression chip technology to identify differences in mRNA expression profiles attributed to cultivation, inoculation or to genetic predisposition.

Direct links to NCBI, no account and no request form. Pick by what you want to do: take the small processed table to look, the supplementary files to re-analyse, or the original raw data to start over.

1 · Just have a look

Processed table

The series matrix: one table of values per sample as the submitters processed it. The smallest download, and it opens in Excel or R. Start here to see what the data look like.

2 · Re-analyse it

Supplementary files

The count tables and other files the authors uploaded. Take only the samples you need.

All supplementary files ↗
3 · The original raw files

Whole study · RAW.tar

Everything the authors deposited as one archive (GSE24560_RAW.tar), including the raw array or instrument files. Can be large; the picker in step 2 takes just the samples you need.

What the files usually look like: For arrays the series matrix is normally the normalised expression table you want; the raw array files (CEL and similar) are in the RAW.tar.
