Summary
Brain tissue-resident memory T(RM) cells are sentinels who survey the human brain and contribute to homeostasis in the central nervous system. Here, we present a protocol for the isolation of T cells from post mortem human brain material. We describe the procedures to isolate viable cells from blood, choroid plexus, leptomeninges, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), and white matter. The potential application of this protocol allows users to isolate primary brain T cells and phenotype them using flow cytometry or sequencing approaches.
