Summary
Different skeletal muscles have distinct gene expression profiles, yet, in humans, the skeletal muscle transcriptome has been explored only in a few muscle types. In this study, we applied cap analysis of gene expression (CAGE-Seq) to autopsy samples of 75 skeletal muscles and quantitatively profiled thousands of transcribed regulatory elements.
