Summary
In this study, we establish a pharmaco-behavioral database of behavioral signatures of 520 U.S. FDA-approved drugs using high-throughput assays of basic sensory processing and arousal behaviors in larval zebrafish and define highly conserved effects of common psychotropic medication targets. By leveraging the behavioral profiles of nine large-effect ASD gene mutants, we identify enrichment of pharmacological mechanisms that anti-correlate with subgroups of ASD genes informed by a precision medicine approach.
