Summary
This study employed RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) to investigate the effects of the 5-HT2B receptor (HTR2B) agonist BW723C86 on phagocytic function in human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs). Primary human PBMCs were treated with BW723C86 or vehicle control(DMSO), and transcriptomic changes related to phagocytosis were analyzed. RNA-seq data revealed significant modulation of genes involved in phagocytic pathways following HTR2B activation. Gene Set Enrichment Analysis (GSEA) demonstrated significantly upregulates phagocytosis-associated gens,including CD63,CTSA and CTSD. These findings provide molecular evidence that HTR2B activation by BW723C86 regulates phagocytic capacity in human PBMCs, suggesting a potential role for the receptor in modulating innate immune functions .
