Summary
Here we demonstrate the highly efficient derivation of human cortical interneurons in a NKX2.1::GFP hESC reporter line. Manipulating the timing of SHH activation yields three distinct GFP+ populations with specific transcriptional profiles, neurotransmitter phenotypes and migratory behaviors.
