AVIL is a bona fide oncogene in rhabdomyosarcoma

GSE173247 Homo sapiens Expression profiling by high throughput sequencing 3 samples Submitted 2026/05/28 Platform GPL24676
Summary
1. AVIL forms a protein-coding fusion with MARS in rhabdomyosarcoma. 2. AVIL is amplified in some RMSs, and overexpressed in most of the RMSs we tested. 3. Tumor cells are addicted to the MARS-AVIL fusion or overexpression of AVIL. 4. Higher AVIL expression correlates with poor prognosis in sarcoma patients
