Transcriptomes of Biliary Atresia patients and healthy controls

GSE276230 Homo sapiens Expression profiling by high throughput sequencing 8 samples Submitted 2026/05/27 Platform GPL18573
Summary
Biliary atresia (BA) is a poorly understood cholangiopathy, presenting with progressive extra-hepatic bile duct obstruction in newborns. Using extra-hepatic cholangiocyte organoids originating both from BA patients and normal ducts from patients undergoing liver transplant for metabolic conditions, we aimed to determine the morphological differences between the organoids, compare their transcriptomics profiling and functionally assess differences between the organoids.
Published in
Human biliary atresia extrahepatic cholangiocyte organoids express increased ER and oxidative stress, altered drug metabolism and cell polarity changes
