ZIKV infection of a hiPSC-NPC line derived from a Congenital ZIKV Syndrome (CZS)-affected patient

GSE279319 Homo sapiens Expression profiling by high throughput sequencing 9 samples Submitted 2025/09/30 Platform GPL24676
Summary
Zika virus (ZIKV) is a mosquito-borne flavivirus consisting of historical African and epidemic-associated Asian lineages. The latter can access the central nervous system and cause microcephaly in the developing foetus through infection and depletion of neural stem and progenitor cells. The molecular mechanisms involved in this depletion response are grossly unknown for cells arising from CZS-affected children. Here, we sought to investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying the neuropathology of ZIKV infection in NPCs.
