Genetic deletion of RUNX1 or RUNX2 in adipocytes enhanced beige fat formation

GSE292084 Mus musculus Expression profiling by high throughput sequencing 43 samples 2026/02/12 GPL34290
Summary
RUNX1/2 overexpression suppresses critical functions associated with brown adipocyte biology, particularly thermogenesis and cellular respiration. Conversely, deletion of RUNX1 or RUNX2 led to a significant increase in cellular temperature, with DKO cells showing the greatest temperature increase. These findings indicate that RUNX1/2 act as negative regulators of thermogenic adipocyte differentiation and actively suppress the thermogenic gene program and function.
