Summary
RUNX1 and RUNX2 repress thermogenic gene expression by directly binding to their regulatory genomic regions, thereby acting as key transcriptional repressors of adipocyte thermogenesis. Furthermore, RUNX1 preferentially interacts with HDAC1 to modulate thermogenic gene expression.
