The effect of BQ323636.1 overexpression on mRNA expression profile in breast cancer cells

GSE295979 Homo sapiens Expression profiling by high throughput sequencing 4 samples Submitted 2025/05/05 Platform GPL24676
Summary
BQ323636.1 (BQ), a truncated splice variant of NCOR2, promotes drug resistance in breast cancer by disrupting NCOR2’s repressor function through direct binding, leading to global gene expression changes. To elucidate its molecular impact, we established stable BQ-overexpressing breast cancer cell lines (MCF-7-BQ and ZR-75-BQ) and their controls (MCF-7 and ZR-75), performing RNA-sequencing to identify differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and associated pathways. The results revealed significant DEGs enriched in pathways linked to drug resistance and transcriptional regulation, highlighting BQ’s role in driving a drug-resistant phenotype. These findings provide critical insights into the mechanisms of BQ-mediated drug resistance, positioning BQ as a potential therapeutic target in breast cancer.
