Transcriptome changes in BeWo cells under chemically induced hypoxia

Summary
Hypoxia is an important condition in placental biology, required for trophoblast differentiation but also associated with various placental pathologies. To model hypoxic response, BeWo b30 choriocarcinoma cells were treated with cobalt chloride (CoCl₂) or an oxyquinoline derivative (4896-3212), both chemical inducers of the HIF1α signaling pathway. Transcriptome profiling was performed to identify gene expression changes under these conditions compared to untreated controls. The dataset provides information on hypoxia-induced transcriptional reprogramming, including genes involved in metabolism, lipid homeostasis, and HIF1α-regulated signaling pathways. These results may contribute to understanding molecular mechanisms of placental adaptation to hypoxia and its role in pathological states.
