β-sitosterol-mediated cardioprotection: a transcriptomic perspective

GSE314346 Mus musculus Expression profiling by high throughput sequencing 6 samples Submitted 2025/12/27 Platform GPL24247
Summary
β-sitosterol has been implicated in mitigating cardiovascular diseases, yet its role in MI remains underexplored. This study investigates the therapeutic potential and underlying mechanisms of β-sitosterol in MI using both in vivo and in vitro models.Transcriptome sequencing combined with molecular docking and protein validation assays revealed that β-SITO exerts its beneficial effects primarily through the regulation of inflammatory and necroptotic signaling pathways, particularly via modulation of NF-κB, NLRP3 inflammasome, and RIPK3/MLKL-mediated necroptosis.
