Summary
Histidine methylation is an evolutionarily conserved but poorly understood post-translational modification. METTL18 is known to catalyze histidine Nτ-methylation in vitro, yet its physiological functions in mammals remain unclear. In this study, we performed a comprehensive analysis of gene expression changes in embryos of wild-type and Mettl18-deficient mice using RNA sequencing (RNA-seq).
