Research Assistant in Neuroimaging
We are seeking a Research Assistant to support high-quality human neuroimaging research across the Department's range of imaging platforms. You will contribute to the safe and effective collection of data across a variety of cognitive neuroscience studies, with a particular focus on supporting study participants and the safe operation of the MRI environment.
Your responsibilities will include consenting study participants, operating neuroimaging equipment following appropriate training, managing and curating data from imaging sessions, carrying out routine equipment checks and supporting quality assurance procedures. You will work closely with researchers and colleagues across the Department to ensure that data are collected accurately, safely and to a high standard.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop practical experience in human neuroimaging within a world-renowned research environment. You will receive training in the use of the Department's scanners and related procedures and gain experience across a range of neuroimaging platforms and research studies.
The post is available immediately and is funded for two years in the first instance.

You will have an Honours degree in neuroscience, psychology, radiography, physics, engineering or a related discipline, together with hands-on experience of working with a neuroimaging modality, such as MRI, MEG or EEG. You will have an understanding of scientific research and MRI safety principles, as well as experience of working with databases and a strong working knowledge of data protection and GDPR.
You will have excellent interpersonal, communication and IT skills and be able to work effectively and cooperatively within a multidisciplinary research environment. You will be a confident problem-solver who can learn new skills quickly, work resourcefully and use your own initiative while maintaining a high level of care and consideration for research participants.
Starting salary offered in the range £39,807 – £42,891 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
