Time-restricted feeding blocks kidney fibrosis and damage through diminished CD8+ T cell infiltration in obese mice

GSE298793 Mus musculus Expression profiling by high throughput sequencing 5 samples Submitted 2026/07/16 Platform GPL24247
Summary
Obesity is a major risk factor for chronic kidney disease. Our lab previously showed that a short-term (2 week) time restricted feeding (TRF) intervention in an established model of diet induced obesity (DIO) reduced kidney interstitial fibrosis, increased tubular brush border integrity, and decreased CD3+ T cell numbers. There is very little known about kidney damage and T cell inflammation in obesity. Single cell RNA sequencing was used to determine transcriptomes of CD45+ cells isolated from kidneys.
