Hepatocyte-to-intestinal Stem Cell Remote Communication Regulates Blood Glucose Homeostasis

GSE302026 Mus musculus Expression profiling by high throughput sequencing 15 samples 2026/05/19 GPL24247
Summary
This study employs RNA sequencing to investigate the impact of fatty liver disease on intestinal stem cells (ISCs) and the differentiation into L-cells. We analyzed colonic crypts from mice with normal liver, fatty liver, and fatty liver with ALP expression inhibited by AAV. The results revealed significant differences in gene transcription profiles, particularly in the Wnt and TGF-β pathways associated with ISC function. The study identifies the ALP-SOX21 axis as a novel pathway by which fatty liver disrupts systemic glucose homeostasis.
