Fetal erythropoiesis and hemoglobin regulation in the context of maternal obesity

GSE303768 Mus musculus Expression profiling by high throughput sequencing 6 samples Submitted 2026/06/25 Platform GPL30172
Summary
We employed single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) to investigate the impact of maternal obesity (MO) on embryonic erythropoiesis across multiple hematopoietic organs during mouse development. Tissues including E13.5 placenta, yolk sac, and liver, as well as E17.5 fetal liver, were collected from embryos of obese and control dams. Our analysis revealed dynamic changes in erythroid lineage composition, maturation states, and hemoglobin gene regulation under MO conditions. This dataset provides a comprehensive single-cell transcriptional map of developing erythroid cells across distinct anatomical sites and developmental stages in response to maternal metabolic stress, offering insights into how maternal obesity disrupts embryonic hematopoiesis.
