Summary
Protein kinase N2 (Pkn2 ) plays a critical role in embryonic heart development, but the earliest molecular defects resulting from its loss in cardiomyocytes are not well defined. To capture primary transcriptional changes preceding overt morphological abnormalities, we performed bulk RNA-seq on embryonic day 10.5 (E10.5) hearts from cardiomyocyte-specific Pkn2 knockout (cKO) and littermate control embryos. At this stage, mutant and control hearts are grossly indistinguishable, allowing unbiased identification of transcriptional alterations directly caused by Pkn2 deficiency. This dataset provides genome-wide gene expression profiles from four cKO and four control embryonic hearts and serves as a resource for understanding the early transcriptional consequences of Pkn2 loss during cardiac morphogenesis.
