Effects of ASH2L deficiency on the differentiation and thermogenic capacity of primary adipocytes

Summary
Adipocyte development and thermogenesis are tightly regulated by epigenetic mechanisms, which may represent potential therapeutic targets for metabolic disorders such as obesity. In this study, we identified Ash2l, a core component of the COMPASS histone methyltransferase complex, as a critical regulator that promotes adipogenesis and thermogenesis. Our ChIP-seq analysis revealed that Ash2l exerts its function by modulating the expression of genes marked by broad Ash2l peaks near transcription start sites, many of which are closely associated with adipogenesis and thermogenic processes.
