Summary
Type-I IFNs have been implicated in the development and progression of retinal disease, however the concequence of long term ocular exposure to Type-I IFN and the cell types that are impacted has not been characterized. This study uses AAV2 to overexpress IFN-beta to achieve prolonged retinal exposure with a single intravitreal injection. We have then employed a single cell RNA sequencing approach using 10x Genomics scRNAseq examine the retinal cell types responsive to Type-I IFN.
