A temporal single-nucleus atlas of the hippocampus in temporal lobe epilepsy mice unveils neuroprotective IGF1+ microglia

GSE298522 Mus musculus Expression profiling by high throughput sequencing 6 samples Submitted 2026/05/21 Platform GPL34328
Summary
Epilepsy is a complex chronic disease characterized by intricate interactions between neurons and various types of glial cells during its pathogenesis. Understanding the molecular sequence of events underlying epilepsy onset and progression is critical for identifying molecular and cellular targets for therapeutic development. In this study, we aimed to reveal the dynamic cell-type-specific responses in TLE hippocampal tissue following KA induction, and identify cellular and molecular mechanisms that either promote or restrict epileptic seizures.
