Effects of liraglutide on skeletal muscle transcriptome in diet-induced obese C57BL/6 mice

GSE324755 Mus musculus Expression profiling by high throughput sequencing 8 samples Submitted 2026/03/18 Platform GPL21273
Summary
Metabolic diseases have become a major global health burden. Insulin resistance plays a critical role in the development and progression of metabolism‑related disorders. Glucagon‑like peptide‑1 receptor agonists (GLP‑1RAs) have emerged as groundbreaking therapeutic agents for the management of a wide spectrum of metabolic diseases. As skeletal muscle is the primary site of insulin‑stimulated glucose disposal, and muscle insulin resistance is a central feature of abnormal glucose metabolism in obesity. To investigate the effects of GLP‑1RAs on the transcriptomic profile of skeletal muscle, we administered liraglutide to diet‑induced obese (DIO) mice and collected skeletal muscle tissues for transcriptome sequencing.
